Jessica Campbell, best known for her roles in the 1999 movieelection„Classic series”Freaks and GeeksAt 38.
The Campbell family announced that the actor passed away on December 29 in Portland, Oregon. Campbell retired from working to become a physiotherapist, collapsing after seeing patients in her clinic. She was not able to revive her and the cause of her death would be determined.
Campbell made her debut in the 1992 television movie „In the Best Interest of the Children” starring Sarah Jessica Parker. Her next major role was in the 1999 comedy satirical „Election” with Matthew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon.
She played the angry sister of teacher Paul (Chris Klein) who ditches her friend and leaves her to Paul. She wants revenge. She is running for him for chapter president. Within the performance she had an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance.
The actor also appeared in „Freaks and Geeks,” as Amy Andrews, the trumpeter of McKinley High’s Marching Band. She briefly dated Kane (Seth Rogen) and she later revealed to him that she was born bisexual.
Campbell also starred in the drama „The Safety of Objects” opposite Glenn Close and Dermot Mulroney, as well as in the 2002 films „Junk” and „Dad’s Day”.
Sarah Wesling, Cambell’s cousin, set up a GoFundMe campaign to pay for funeral costs and support Campbell’s 10-year-old son Oliver. Wesling wrote on the GoFundMe page: „As a true true adventurer, she amassed an enormous amount of experiences into her short and tragic life.”
„She can always be relied upon as a trigger, or at least a partner willing to cause various forms of mischief and uproar. To know it means to have a story to include. To know it means you know a true friendship.”
Witherspoon also expressed her condolences In a tweet: „So it broke heart to hear this. Working with Jessica in the ‘election’ was a pleasure. I send all my love to Jessica’s family and loved ones.”
Campbell is also spared by husband Daniel, her mother and aunt, among other extended family members. A memorial service is planned.
